It has been integrated in our workflow within a specific task at the end of the treatment preparation by the medical physics department. The software initializes with a queue of the patients whose treatment needs to be checked and test all of them simultaneously. Each patient check lasts less than 5 seconds. All the results are automatically saved in a logfile for analysis purposes.

The tool has been tested with a QA patient inducing errors and warnings for each test showing expected behavior and total accuracy.

Results:

Since implementation 3 months ago, this tool has analyzed 388 external beam radiotherapy treatments obtaining the results of Image 1. Most of the treatments (90%) reach this point of the workflow with all the needed radiotherapy treatment parameters for their correct treatment. A 4% of them would have troubles needing human intervention during the first treatment session.
