Conclusion:
In conclusion, our study contributes to the advancement of PBS beam dosimetry by demonstrating the potential of the np-ADRS system. The incorporation of silver nanoparticles onto the acrylic disk has shown significant improvements in dose measurement accuracy and reliability. The enhancement mechanism with nanoparticles has been validated, and interesting findings have been observed when combining the np-ADRS system with pencil beam scanning therapy. The superiority of silver nanoparticles has been established through FDTD simulations and performance experiments. While limitations exist, such as the presence of the optical fiber, future research can focus on addressing these limitations and exploring broader applications of the plasmonic-enhanced ADRS system in radiation therapy. Overall, our findings contribute to improved treatment accuracy and patient safety, presenting a valuable tool for precise and reliable dose measurement in proton therapy.
