Results:

DM was triggered in 36 out of 37 patient images and resulted in a median imaging dose reduction of 13\% (max. 22\%). Image quality of the GT and the DM EE images were similar (Figure 1). The evaluation of the registration displacement fields (DFs) is summarized in Table 1. The displacement statistics were consistent for all DF components. Largest displacements (i.e., differences between GT and DM) were found for the heart and the middle lung although the lower lung (the diaphragm) is subject to largest motion. Thus, since 4DCT imaging was not correlated to heartbeat, the differences were dominated by different heart phases represented by the used projection data.
