Conclusion:
2D ion chamber arrays are suitable for registering the dose distribution from primary and scatter radiation exiting the patient in HDR brachytherapy applications. Their practical utilization however necessitates novel approaches incorporating fast computational dosimetry with low uncertainty, treatment plan robustness, and patient anatomy changes.
