Conclusion:

This study demonstrated that DIR-based plan summation delivers more realistic dose information for numerous stereotactic re-irradiation scenarios in hepatocellular cancer than physical dose summation. The use of DIR-based radiobiological dosage in treatment plan evaluation has the potential to improve the standard of care provided to patients requiring retreatment.
