*Showed minimally important difference (MID) from baseline
Conclusion:
Hypofractionated PMRT negatively affected the QoL of breast cancer patients two weeks after treatment, but a considerable improvement was seen after three months. The changes in QoL were paralleled by a significant increase in breast symptoms at completion of RT and at two weeks post-RT but returning to baseline levels after three months. Breast cancer patients and health professionals should be made aware of the appropriate timing of follow up and the expected toxicities of treatment. Care is best directed at alleviating radiation dermatitis experienced by patients. While QoL at early follow up appears reassuring, it would be interesting to determine if this is maintained on long-term follow up.
