Conclusion:

Intestinal resident CX3CR1 + macrophages are indispensable in mediating intestine repair after radiation induced injury. Radiation induced intestinal resident macrophages turnover from CCR2 + monocyte/macrophages to CX3CR1 + macrophages is orchestrated by microbiota.
