Purpose/Objective:
Abdominal SBRT treatments in breath hold inspiration guided by SGRT have shown an improvement on intrafraction motion control. However, this comes with the cost of more treatment interruptions if the patient surface moves outside the SBRT thresholds. Therefore, the training of these patient becomes crucial.
This study evaluates the impact of adding an extra training session for patients treated with EBH abdominal SBRT regarding fraction treatment time.
Material/Methods:
Six patients diagnosed with pancreatic or hepatic tumours and treated in EBH with SBRT were studied. Patients were positioned on a SBRT board (CIVCO) equipped with a vacuum bag and a thorax support. All patients were treated with a TrueBeam linear accelerator (Varian). Treatment was delivered using VMAT technique with 10 FFF X-ray beam in 3 or 5 fractions.
The SGRT surface monitoring system used for this study was AlignRT (VisionRT).
