RTT - Patient experience and quality of life

ESTRO 2024

LGBTIQ+ people in urology and sexual wellness. As a result, patients receive less information and support, which leads to lower CPES outcomes. Until better LGBTIQ+ patient data is collected by the NHS, the scale of impact on adherence and outcomes cannot be known. Much of this work is left to AHPs in their departments in addition to their existing workload. If we are to truly achieve ‘patient centred care’, allyship and advocacy is needed at a greater scale with more visible senior and institutional support. Passive acceptance does not change the system, instead we need community co-produced policy that informs inclusive practice and leads to more functional pathways for those facing barriers or exclusion. There is no better time to start than now.
