Conclusion:

In our series, smoking has been shown to increase the likelihood of chronic fibrosis and pain after WB-IMRT in early BC. These findings would support the need to reinforce social and educational measures against smoking. In the future, having this large, homogeneous cohort of patients with a long-estimated survival will allow us to evaluate the impact of this risk factor on long-term cardiovascular morbidity and mortality in patients, evaluating it together with other factors such as left breast irradiation, so that future research in this regard is guaranteed.
