The worsening was noticed in 18.8% of women in the BRBI domain. Analysis of all the clinical and dosimetric factors for worsening in the BRBI domain at 2 years compared to baseline revealed only statistical significance for the clinical tumor size with OR 3.297 (95% CI 1.362-7.983), 0.008.
Conclusion:
The study confirms that there is worsening of cosmesis following whole breast irradiation and simultaneous integrated boost using uHFRT. This is noted by both subjective as well as objective methods of assessments. Clinical tumor size, breast size, tumor bed volume and hormone therapy corelate with worsening of cosmesis. The worsening of cosmesis negatively impacts body image.
