In serial OARs, statistically significant (p<0.05) median dose reductions in the autoIMPT and autoIMPT+TB plans were observed compared to the clinical plans, up to 2246 cGy in the autoIMPT+TB plan for the right optic nerve vw max D0.03cc (p<.001). With incorporation of TBs, serial OAR doses were further reduced, especially in the brainstem (see figure 2) and optic nerves. In most parallel OARs, dose reductions were found in the automated plans, with on average up to 1316 cGy in the pituitary Dmean for the autoIMPT+TB plans (p=0.00). The NTCP for dysphagia remained equal to the clinical plans, and for xerostomia statistically significant reductions (p<0.001) were obtained in the automated IMPT and IMPT+TB plans.
