Digital Poster what about being a great not only a good radiation therapist? an overwiew of tunisian radiation therapists’ perception Mouna Ben Rejeb, Ghada Abdessattar, Selma Ghorbal, Siwar Abdessaied, Lilia Ghorbal, Lotfi Kochbati Radiotherapy, Abderrahman Mami Hospital, Ariana, Tunisia Purpose/Objective: Radiation therapists (RTTs) are essential members of the radiation oncology interprofessional team, responsible for delivering radiation treatments. In addition to technical skills, RTTs need strong interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients and other healthcare professionals. The aim of this study was to assess the behavioral skills mobilized by RRTs and to identify the top soft skills required for RTTs. Material/Methods: A survey was distributed to RTTs working in radiation oncology departments in Tunisia to capture their self assessment of soft skills when performing their clinical role. Participants were asked to rate their level of proficiency for an extensive list of soft skills, in a scale ranging between 1 (underdeveloped) and 4 (highly developed). RTTs were also asked to select the five most important soft skills for a radiation therapist. Information was also gathered regarding training and work experience. Results: Thirty-one respondents completed the survey. The median age was 35 years [24-57 years] and median radiotherapy (RT) work experience was 7,5 years. When asked about training in soft skills, 42% of respondents reported not having received any training. Regarding the skills levels, empathy was the quality with the highest score, followed by communication and team work. However, stress and time management showed the lowest scores. RT work experience was the most important factor (51%) that seems to impact soft skills score.
