JOINT SYMPOSIUM ESTRO-EFOMP: CBCT in radiotherapy: Improving and sharing best practice 11:00 - 12:15  |  ROOM 112 Marcel van Herk will present the current status and standardising protocols: CBCT dose and scan time are not a given but can be optimised; Users should be aware of the limitations and possibilities of the technology; Clinical application of CBCT is augmented by developing clear clinical and technical protocols saving time and reducing the likelihood of errors. Jean-Pierre Bissonnette will present the development of quality in CBCT: CBCT removed geometric variations; Understanding and comparing the effect of immobilisation devices; How can VMAT improve RT quality using CBCT; How to assess what is the optimal imaging frequency; Paving the way towards adaptive RT. Alberto Torresin will present the European guidelines for CBCT quality control published by EFOMP-ESTRO-IAEA.
