Jean-Jacques Mazeron Sorbonne University – Hospital Pitié-Salpêtrière Paris, France

Jean-Jacques Mazeron, MD, PhD, is professor of radiation oncology at the Sorbonne University, Paris, and radiation oncologist at the Pitié-Salpêtrière Hospital. He chaired the medical division of the Orsay Protontherapy Centre from 1999 to 2004 as well as the department of radiation oncology at the Hospital Pitié-Salpêtrière from 2004 to 2016. Dr Mazeron chaired SFRO (Société Française de Radiothérapie Oncologique) in 2008 and 2009 and is now the Administrative Director of SFRO. In 1997, he founded the journal of SFRO Cancer/Radiothérapie and is still its Editor-in-Chief. He chaired the GEC-ESTRO from 2003 to 2006. He participated in the ESTRO annual teaching course on brachytherapy from 1990 to 2005. He was one of the editors of the GEC-ESTRO handbook of brachytherapy, published in 2002, and has edited several textbooks of radiation therapy in France.
