Luca Tagliaferri Department of Radiation Oncology – GEMELLI-ART (Advanced Radiation Therapy), Gemelli University Hospital - “Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore” Rome, Italy
Luca Tagliaferri graduated in Medicine in 2004 at the School of Medicine of the “Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore” of Rome and completed his residency programme in radiation oncology in 2008, followed by PhD in brachytherapy in 2016. Dr Tagliaferri currently works at the Gemelli ART (Advanced Radiation Therapy) Center of the Gemelli University Hospital of Rome, addressing his clinical and research interests especially on interventional and metabolic radiotherapy. Medical software development in the fields of research, teaching and patient's care represent additional areas of scientific activity. Dr Tagliaferri is currently involved in multiple ESTRO Congresses and activities and became active member of the Head & Neck and Skin GEC-ESTRO Working Group in 2012, where he is representative of the COBRA large-database project and leader of the Eye Interventional Radiotherapy Networking Group. Moreover, in this frame, he was local organizer of the 5 th GEC-ESTRO Workshop recently held in Rome. He is currently chair of the Brachytherapy, Interventional Radiotherapy and Intraoperative Radiotherapy Working Group of the Italian Association of Radiation Oncology (AIRO) and he coordinated activities of the Italian Radiation Oncology Study Group for Metabolic Radiotherapy (2015-2016). Besides his clinical and research activity, he is in the board of the “Attilio Romanini” association, a voluntary association for cancer patients support active in the organization of the Italian Day of Relief. Dr Tagliaferri is married with one daughter and one son. He supports Juventus Football Club and loves skiing and hiking with friends.
