Soehartati Gondhowiardjo Dr Cipto Mangunkusumo National General Hospital Jakarta, Indonesia

Soehartati Gondhowiardjo is a fulltime Professor and Radiation Oncologist at Cipto Mangunkusumo General Hospital Jakarta, Indonesia. Currently she is the Chairperson of the Indonesian National Cancer Control Committee (NCCC), the President of the Federation of Asia Organization for Radiation Oncology (FARO), and the President of the Indonesian Radiation Oncology Society (IROS). Dr Gondhowiardjo became a radiologist in 1987 and studied Radiation Oncology in Universitaet Muenster – Germany in 1988. She had her PhD on EBV and cell proliferation activity of nasopharyngeal as predictive factors of nasopharyngeal cancer radiation responses and became Professor in University of Indonesia. Her research activities also include radiation oncology physics and molecular oncology and have resulted in several publications. Her current fields of interest include Head & Neck Cancers, Breast Cancer, Stereotactic, and CNS Tumors; for which she has been actively sharing her expertise in numerous international forums. Dr Gondhowiardjo has made numerous activities related to cancer control in the country for years and after being promoted as the Chairperson of NCCC at 2014, she has been running cancer control programs nationwide in order to improve cancer control in Indonesia. Dr Gondhowiardjo is also actively participating in several organizations of oncology professionals. In addition to being the current President of the FARO and IROS, she is also the Past President of South East Asian Radiation Oncology Group (SEAROG), Past President of Indonesian Society for Oncology (ISO), Council Member of the Asian Clinical Oncology Society (ACOS) and a member of the European Society for Radiotherapy and Oncology (ESTRO), Pediatric Radiation Oncology Society (PROS) and also responsible as the National Project Coordinator for several IAEA projects.
