SYMPOSIUM Lung and dose escalation 14:30 - 15:45  | ROOM 116

Dose escalation in non-small cell lung cancer has become a double-sided sword: whereas high-dose hypo-fractionated radiotherapy is well established in stereotactic body radiotherapy for early stages, the transfer to locally advanced stages is discussed controversially. This session will show the long-term results of the RTOG 0617 study and review secondary analyses, which evaluated whether and how dose escalation may still play a role. It will be discussed whether hypo-fractionated delivery of dose escalated radiotherapy is feasible or double-trouble, in particular when combined with systemic treatments. Finally, it will be addressed how to select the patient-individual optimal radiotherapy technology using advanced outcome modelling. Chair: M. Guckenberger (Switzerland) Co-Chair: A. Botticella (France)
