TREATMENT PLANNING

➢ Skin high frequency ultrasound of the lesion or surgical bed to define the depth of CTV is recommended in superficial skin tumours.

➢ CT/MRI is necessary to define the CTV and decide on the optimal treatment technique in large volume tumors.

➢ CT based treatment planning is advisory in all interstitial as well as costumized mould treatments.

➢ TREATMENT PLANNING STARTS WITH THE CHOICE OF APPLICATION TECHNOLOGY AND THE DOSE / FRACTIONATION, NOT WITH THE USE OF A TPS
