Conclusion:

This study is focused on the development of a prototypal preclinical TPS for small animals MBRT using X-ray. This toolbox can be used to calculate the dose to the tumour and/or other organs for preclinical in vivo MBRT treatments. Secondly this TPS can be useful to investigate and compare different irradiation geometries. In routine usage the MC simulation time is non-negligible, so efforts are underway to enhance it through the implementation of variance reduction techniques.
