Purpose/Objective:

Proton beam therapy (PBT) has seen exponential expansion in demand and capacity over recent decades. Growing evidence supports its use in specific clinical settings. However, there are still geographical disparities in the distribution of PBT centres, which influence patient access to this technology. To narrow the gap in outcomes, it is important to address the uneven deployment of modern RT technologies. Access to health care services has frequently been the subject of national programmes aimed at improving population health. Although new technologies have great potential to enhance health outcomes, there is often inequity in access due to differences in socioeconomic status and geographic location.
