SYMPOSIUM Genomic Instability and DNA repair in cancer 08:45 - 10:00  |  ROOM 120-121

In this session, Professor Bartek will introduce the DNA repair pathway (DDR) regulation and chromatin remodeling in response to DNA damage. He will further discuss the role of replications stress in tumorigenesis and the potential of DDR as emerging target in oncology. Professor Chalmers will present DDR inhibitors available for clinical use and discuss the rationale for combining these with radio- and chemotherapy. Assoc. professor Hamerlik will focus on the aberrant regulation of DDR in glioblastoma, and introduce the concept of DDR targeting in the context of cellular hierarchies. Chair: P. Hamerlik (Denmark) Co-Chair: A. Menegakis (The Netherlands)

08:45 > Responses to DNA damage in cancer pathogenesis and treatment Speaker: J. Bartek (Sweden)

SYMPOSIUM The evolving role of radiotherapy in the management of lung cancer 08:45 - 10:00  |  ROOM AUDITORIUM This session will cover current and emerging aspects of radiotherapy in the management of lung cancer: • Towards individualized dose-constraints for dose-limiting toxicity (Rebecca Bütof): individualized dose prescription based on normal tissue constraints to overcome the major problem of local recurrences - modified fractionation schemes for decreasing dose-limiting toxicity - biological/biomarker driven individualization of dose-constraints • Functional-imaging guided dose-escalation (Ursula Nestle): overview of the concept to use PET imaging to allow image-guided dose-escalation • New trends in the management of SCLC (Umberto Ricardi): Optimizing thoracic RT in SCLC, current role and future perspectives of PCI in SCLC, Integration of RT with new systemic agents
