09:03 > Systemic effects of radiotherapy: immune mechanisms, pre-clinical data and clinical evidence Speaker: U. Gaipl (Germany) 09:21 > Immunogenic cell death in radiation therapy and immunotherapy Speaker: L. Galluzzi (USA) 09:39 > Immunocytokines the ideal immunotherapy to combine with radiotherapy? Speaker: P. Lambin (The Netherlands) SYMPOSIUM More of both? Breast reconstruction and regional lymph node irradiation! 08:45 - 10:00  | ROOM AUDITORIUM High risk early breast cancer patients undergoing mastectomy and post-operative radiation therapy (RT) are increasingly having breast reconstruction. However, there are limited data on the optimal timing of RT and reconstruction and several issues may influence the risk of complications. Recent data has documented fewer recurrences and improved survival from regional irradiation, and a meta-analysis is underway. Potentially, improved selection criteria for regional radiotherapy may be identified, but overall it is expected that more patients will be offered this treatment. Guidelines for RT in reconstructed patients are needed, including recommendations for patient selection, target volume definition and radiation dose and techniques. Chair: B. Offersen (Denmark) Co-Chair: S. Bosma (The Netherlands) 08:45 > Breast reconstruction: a past or present challenge for the radiation oncologist? Speaker: P. Poortmans (France) 09:05 > Who might benefit most from regional nodal irradiation? A practical guide based on a publication-level meta-analysis Speaker: D. Dodwell (United Kingdom) 09:25 > Brother and sister: guidelines for bringing breast reconstruction and radiation therapy together Speaker: O. Kaidar-Person (Israel)
